Jeanie

Registered Veterinary Technologist

Jeanie has been around animals her whole life. Growing up, her family had dogs and cats, pet mice and birds, and later on, Jeanie got herself a skinny pig and a hedgehog. During her schooling, she fell in love with wildlife rehabilitation and would often nanny orphaned squirrels and hares that came into WildNorth. She has always wanted to make a career for herself in the animal world and has had many great animal encounters so far.

After graduating with a BSc in Animal Health from U of A, volunteering at the zoo, and working at WildNorth, she wanted to further her education so she could provide better care for every animal she encountered. She graduated from the AHT program at NAIT in 2019 and is starting her RVT journey here as part of the Currents Veterinary Centre team.

Jeanie is very passionate about your pet's health as well as also making sure that you and your animals feel safe and welcome in the clinic. Jeanie loves wildlife and exotic/pocket pets and loves learning how to better care for them in a clinic setting. She looks forward to getting to know not only you but also your furry (and not so furry) friends.

When Jeanie is not at work, you can find her at home cuddling her two cats and her skinny pig, spending time with her family and friends, or listening to Disney or Broadway music.
