Allison
Registered Veterinary Technologist
Allison was born and raised in south Edmonton. She graduated from MacEwan University in 2019 with an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, majoring in both genetics and ecology. Allison spent the summer of 2021 volunteering with WILDNORTH, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility, where she worked in the hospital nursing sick animals back to health. This volunteer experience turned the tides for Allison’s career ambitions, and she decided to take the leap and apply to NAIT’s Animal Health program. Prior to starting school she worked at both an emergency centre and general practice as a tech assistant and receptionist to gain experience. After completing her practicum here at Currents in 2024, she graduated with honors from NAIT. Allison is Fear-Free certified and strives to make vet visits as enjoyable as possible for every pet.
Allison grew up with Francis a uromastyx lizard, as well as Trinity, Atticus and Ezra the beta fish. Her family was never able to have any furry friends due to allergies but it is her dream to own a dog the second she is able to.
Outside of work, Allison loves to read books, watch movies with friends, and take care of her HUGE plant collection (100 plants and counting!). She spends every summer camping with her family, where she enjoys swimming, campfires and having quality time with her family.
