Dr. Susan Nguyen
Born and raised in Edmonton, Susan first completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta before attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan and graduating in 2012. In addition to her training at the college, Susan has also received additional training in veterinary ophthalmology at Cornell University, small animal surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York, and neurology and dermatology at Western Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver. She previously worked at two other small animal clinics in Alberta, one of which focused extensively on Veterinary Dentistry.
Susan's love and compassion for animals started at a young age where her earliest memories were those of the stray alley cats she would befriend and hide in her room. Susan is passionate about educating clients and believes strongly in preventative medicine. She believes that veterinary medicine is not only about caring for pets but also involves educating and caring for their humans.
Susan has joined the Currents Veterinary family after returning from maternity leave and looks forward to her future here. Outside of work she enjoys playing a variety of sports, pumping iron at the gym, sewing, cooking, and chasing around her giggly son.
